Building community

Vancouver Island Engineering Society (VIES) is a network of engineers, scientists, and professionals committed to advancing engineering excellence and innovation on Vancouver Island. Our mission is to foster a dynamic community where members can connect, learn, and grow through a variety of engaging events and programs.

From October to June, we host monthly virtual talks that bring together local and provincial experts to explore cutting-edge topics and groundbreaking research in engineering. These talks, along with additional in-person events like lectures, tours, and workshops, provide invaluable opportunities for knowledge exchange and professional development.

Through our partnership with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC), VIES supports members in meeting their continuing education requirements. Beyond events, we proudly offer mentorship programs, scholarships, and awards to uplift future engineers, while promoting a culture of diversity, leadership, and equality in the engineering field.

VIES is the operating name of the Victoria division of the Canadian Society of Senior Engineers which in turn is a Constituent member of the Engineering Institute of Canada.
