First Flight, Vancouver December 10th, 2019

ABSTRACT: Harbour Air was named a 2019 winner of the Canada’s Best Managed Companies Platinum Club designation! After ten consecutive years being recognized for its Best Managed status, this is the fourth year Harbour Air has been awarded as a Platinum Club member. “We’re very proud to be recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies,” said Randy Wright, President of Harbour Air.  With more than 450 staff, the Harbour Air Group, consisting of Harbour Air Seaplanes, Whistler Air, Satspring Air and Harbour Air Aerospace Services has become one of the world’s largest seaplane airlines. We are rooted in our commitments to Safety, Service, Innovation and Team Spirit, every team member works to provide unforgettable, expectation-exceeding passenger experiences. The Harbour Air Group is proud to be North America’s first carbon neutral airline, since 2007.

Harbour Air, North America’s largest seaplane airline, and magniX, the company powering the electric aviation revolution, conducted the first successful flight of the world’s first all-electric commercial aircraft on Dec. 10th, 2019. The flight of the ePlane, a six-passenger DHC-2 de Havilland Beaver magnified by a 750-horsepower (560 kW) magni500 propulsion system, took place on the Fraser River in Richmond. The plane was piloted by Harbour Air CEO and founder Greg McDougall. This historic flight signifies the start of the third era in aviation – the electric age.  “Today, we made history,” said Greg McDougall, CEO and founder of Harbour Air Seaplanes. “I am incredibly proud of Harbour Air’s leadership role in re-defining safety and innovation in the aviation and seaplane industry. Canada has long held an iconic role in the history of aviation, and to be part of this incredible world-first milestone is something we can all be really proud of.”  magniX and Harbour Air are beginning the certification and approval process for the propulsion system and the retrofitting of aircraft. Once the certification is complete, the rest of the fleet can be magnified with magniX’s all-electric propulsion technology.
