Introduction to Blockchain

Robin Bell, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Long View Systems (“LVS”), brings over 35 years Industry experience to the role. He has been with LVS since inception in 1999 and has held several roles including Practice Director and Network Services which grew to 85 people in 4 years.  As CTO, Mr. Bell has responsibility and oversight in providing guidance and direction on mid- and long-term solution and product strategies, which includes the broader ecosystem of LVS’s strategic partners.  Mr. Bell plays a key role on LVS’s innovation and product development team and leads LVS’s Internet of Things (IoT) development and works with the Service Management Office (SMO) to set the direction on security standards for the organization including SOC1 Type II, PCI/DSS, and most recently ISO27001.  Robin is a graduate of Centennial College’s Electrical Engineering Technology program and University of Calgary Haskayne School of Business, Business Essentials.

Blockchain is a significant new technology that is not well understood.  It is one of five major future disruptors (i.e. Blockchain, AI and Automation, Intelligent Apps, Adaptive Security and Mixed Reality).  Robin will speak to the critical role of Blockchain in such areas as ‘contract management and project tracking as well as to many of the misconceptions surrounding Blockchain.
